Heritage Trail Vineyards and Winery is located on the estate of the historic John Palmer House in Lisbon, Connecticut. The vitner is Laurie Schwartz, wife of the celebrity Chef Harry of the PBS Series "Chef Harry and Friends". They reopened the vineyard on the estate in 2007 and produce private label wines from grapes grown entirely in Connecticut. Heritage Vineyards and Wines is one of the newest vineyards on the Connecticut's Wine Trail.Jonathan Edwards started the Jonathan Edwards Winery in North Stonington, Connecticut several years ago. The vineyard produces wines from grapes grown in Connecticut supplemented with partially fermented grapes from the Napa region of California. Bruce Oliver, owner of the "Travel with Oliver" & "Cruise with Bruce" website, is the developer and wine critic of the "Vineyards, Wine & Cheese" website that you are now on. Over the next few months he will be adding content on the vineyards that are part of the Connecticut Wine Trail to this site. Although this website will focus on the vineyards and wine in the Northeast and Connecticut he will be including information on New York (from the Finger Lakes in NY to the vineyards on Long Island), Rhode Island to the Lake District in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. In addition he has traveled the world visiting vineyards from California to Portugal to Spain, Italy, France and Germany. Photographs will include the rows of grapes photographed while visiting each region to guest appearances of Wine Critics, Vineyard and Restaurant owners from his radio program on "Cruise with Bruce".
